We feel that our children have benefited immeasurably from their years at North Star. Their confidence and independence have been nurtured and all three of our children have developed such positive attitudes towards learning. As parents we have been pleasantly surprised at the wide variety of works that the kids have already been exposed to such as foreign language and culture. Besides academically, our children are learning more self-control, self-motivation, and socialization skills. We especially appreciate the multi-age classrooms as well as the diversity throughout the school.

The teachers at North Star serve more as a guide encouraging our children to make their own choices and enabling our children to learn at a pace that is comfortable for them. Our kids seem to really enjoy the independence they experience at North Star. They have formed lasting bonds with their friends and they are discovering who they are as a person every day that they attend North Star. As parents, we have also formed friendships with other families whose children attend North Star as well as with the staff. We have always enjoyed the connection between people at North Star as well as the involvement that we as parents are encouraged to have within the school. We cannot say how thankful we are to have discovered North Star. It has been a true blessing for our family!

WHAT OUR PARENTS SAY

We have been at North Star for nearly five years now. We love the education our children receive at the school, but we feel even more thankful for the way that our whole family is supported. Not only have the teachers helped to guide us through the learning process of parenting, but we have found wonderful support in friends our family has made through the school. We love having our children go to school where the kids are given responsibility for the classroom and for their own work, where healthy foods are the policy for everyone during the school day, and where they are shown respect and are expected to respect one another. We did not know a lot about Maria Montessori when we started here, but we have come to truly believe in the Montessori Method of education. It is a challenge to raise children who are creative, curious, and caring. We are so happy to have found a community that helps us in that goal.

We began looking for an appropriate school for our children long before they reached kindergarten age. We felt like the day cares they attended did not expect much from them nor were the kids enthusiastic about going every day. It was a friend of ours who told us about North Star stating that she had heard wonderful things about the learning environment as well as the staff. We agreed with her opinion after our initial visit and tour and we knew that North Star would be the school for our children.

North Star Montessori is a caring, nurturing environment where children learn and grow in a place that encourages creativity and individuality. We are thankful for the gifts North Star gives our children.
